Projects

SEATS members have identified over 60 transport infrastructure projects covering road and rail. With total project values exceeding $5B and many “shovel ready” SEATS is working with the NSW, VIC and Australian governments for prioritised funding.

SEATS also welcome the joint Australian and State Government’s “Princes Highway Corridor Project” which supports the freight corridor between Wollongong and Port Augusta in South Australia.

  • Upgrade 14km of rail track on South Coast Rail Line between Berry and Bomaderry (under construction
  • New 4km passing loop on South Coast Rail Line between Berry and Gerringong at Toolijooa (geotech investigations underway)
  • Summit Tank loop could be extended to 1.2km and would increase the number of spare paths to 8.1
  • Train turnaround siding between Unanderra and Coniston Junction on South Coast Rail Line
  • Implement actions from Nowra Bomaderry Transport Strategy to relieve congestion in Nowra-Bomaderry
  • Crossing the Escarpment: Extend MR92 – Beyond Nerriga to link to Hume Hwy
  • Milton Ulladulla Bypass (under planning investigation)
  • Princes Highway Intersections to Coastal Communities (each at various stages of planning and construction)
  • Additional bridge over the Shoalhaven River at Nowra (construction to be completed in April 2023)
