Bridge upgrade south of Nowra

The northbound bridge over Currambene Creek on the Princes Highway at Falls Creek is being upgraded to increase the maximum allowable vehicle loading from a HML Semi Trailer (45.5T) to a HML B Double (68T).
This project is co-funded by the Australian Government with the NSW Government and NSW will receive a total of $2.4 million for the upgrade. SEATS agitated and supported the strengthening of this bridge to create greater productivity in the freight movements south of Nowra.
This pre-stressed concrete bridge was built in 1975 to replace the wooden trestle bridge built in 1865 which formed part of the Princes Highway between Nowra and Ulladulla. Open link to see the 1865 crossing.
