Cr Arthur Allen is a fifth generation East Gippslander, his family having been involved with the fishing industry since the late 1870s.

Although retired, Arthur maintains an active interest in the industry through various roles.

Arthur was educated at St Patrick’s College Sale and holds qualifications as a Master Mariner Class V and Engine Driver 2 and has also earned a Diploma of Environmental Management.

“East Gippsland is such a beautiful area and has so much potential. After last years devastating fires we need to not only rebuild but to revitalise. My focus is on ensuring that as a Council we do everything possible to help people rebuild, not only their homes but their lives and their community. Our strength is our people,” Cr Allen said.
