Funding for Snowy Mountain Highway Maintenance

Maintenance work will start next month at Brown Mountain on the Snowy Mountains Highway as part of the NSW Government’s economic stimulus package.

Member for Bega Andrew Constance said stimulus funding from the NSW Government’s $2.3 billion COVID-19 package announced in March has allowed Transport for NSW to bring forward and deliver projects in addition to its planned program of work.

“From this funding, $1 million has been allocated to fast-track maintenance work on Brown Mountain on the Snowy Mountains Highway 10 km west of Bemboka,” Mr Constance said.

“The work involves the replacement of road drainage, shoulder widening and resurfacing to provide an improved road surface for motorists.

“This is great news from a road safety perspective and also in terms of supporting jobs and local businesses in the region.”
