With the bridge strengthening now completed on the two key bridges on the Sale Alternate Truck Route, pre-construction of the intersection improvements at Sale-Maffra Rd/Myrtlebank-Fulham Rd are now scheduled to move forward.

Additional scoping works the Princes Highway/Myrtlebank Rd intersection roundabout and the Sale-Heyfield Rd/Myrtlebank-Fulham Rd intersection roundabout will commence shortly to assess alignments and any property acquisition.

This alternate route is becoming quite popular with trucks and other vehicles. Construction in the order of $60million should commence in 2026/27 for a 2 year construction period and will include pavement widening and road safety improvements to support the increasing traffic volumes
